A Non-Executive Chair (Non-Exec) is required for a leading Housing Association, Aster Group, based in the South of England (Andover).

Remuneration will be in the region of £28,700 plus expenses

Non-Exec Chair Role/Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with Chair experience inside and outside of the housing sector, who could join us by September 2019.

  • Has held a Director position in a medium to large scale business with a £10m min turnover (5 years minimum) AIM level equivalent
  • Experience in a range of sectors including private and/or ideally some public/not for profit
  • Able to analyse facts and make reasoned judgments, constructively challenge and while accepting accountability and the collective decision making of the Board
  • Experience of being a Chair, or aspirations to become a chair
  • Experience of leading a senior team of people in furthering strategic objectives and achievement
  • Ability to demonstrate Aster’s core values through behaviour and commitment to their core purpose and ethos

 

The Non-Executive Chairman will be expected to work on average 3-4 days per month (more during the first 6 months to accommodate induction).

The Board/Boards meet up to 10 times per year with a combination of strategy discussions and business matters considered throughout the year. There may be the opportunity to join additional committees.  These will normally take place between 10am and 4pm, as well as a twice-yearly Board dinner to take place the evening before a Board meeting.

There will also be the opportunity to attend occasional training sessions and site visits.
