Skyfly Technologies are aiming to be the first company in the UK to design and build a 2-seater manned aircraft for non-commercial private pilots in the UK.  The future goal is to be a major disruptor in the in the certified commercial sectors of the E-VTOL (electronic-vertical take-off and landing) market that are forecast over the next decade.

They are looking to raise seed capital of £1.1m to develop a prototype and gain a National Permit to fly under the BCAR Section S to take the product to market.

The company is looking to strengthen their current Board with the appointment of up to three Non-Executive Directors to contribute to the growth of the company. 

Investing Non-Executive Directors are required for our client in the aerospace sector, Skyfly Technologies Limited, London.

The Non-Executive Directors will be encouraged to become a shareholder in the company to align the incoming Non-Executives interest with that of the existing Directors who are or plan to become shareholders.

Business Concept:

Skyfly Technologies Limited designs and intends to build and sell electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (E-VTOL) which, initially, will target the general aviation market. Subsequently, they anticipate scaling the business with commercial certification and increased passenger and payload capacity to open up to commercial opportunities to include air taxis, cargo transport and logistics.

  • Skyfly Technologies first 2-seater aircraft, the Quest EV20, will be sold to private non-commercial pilots as a kit-built aircraft.
  • The aim is for the EV20 to be the first E-VTOL aircraft to be available for sale with a permit to fly in the UK.
  • Following the successful launch of the protype, Skyfly Technologies will raise Series A funding in order to scale production capabilities and begin work on the next certified aircraft. 

 

Market & Opportunity: 

  • The global aviation sector is in a race to provide solutions to urban air mobility with electric powered VTOL aircraft, however commercial regulation is unable to keep up with these developments and therefore certification is taking an extremely long time.
  • There is a large sector of private pilots that has not yet been addressed and the Skyfly aircraft will fill this gap.
  • Over 200,000 registered private pilots in Europe (34,000 in the UK alone)
  • There is an estimated £37bn market value (£5.6 bn in the UK alone)

  • Experience with a network in fund raising ideally in the aerospace or aviation sector.

  • Experience as a Sales & Commercial Director with a knowledge of international, national and regional sales and technical sales engineering, ideally in the aerospace or aviation sector.

 

Role No: 1142 / Engineering Director Investing Non-Exec

  • Experience as an Engineering Director with knowledge of process and production engineering, ideally in the aerospace or aviation sector.
